LifQ is an information tool, not insurance advice

LifQ organizes the credit card coverage, warranties, memberships, employer benefits, and insurance policies your household already has, and restates them in plain language so you can see what you own. That is the whole job. Everything below explains where that job ends.
What LifQ does
- Reads the documents you upload and summarizes what they say
- Shows your coverage side by side, so overlaps and areas nothing covers are visible
- Tracks renewal dates and expirations from the documents you upload, plus any date you add yourself, and reminds you
- Shows you where two things appear to cover the same risk, and may estimate what that overlap costs you
- Shares that picture with the household members you choose
LifQ uses reasonable measures designed to improve the accuracy of its summaries, but automated outputs may still be incomplete or incorrect, which is why everything below matters.
What LifQ does not do
LifQ does not advise you on what to buy, keep, change, or cancel. It does not tell you whether your coverage is adequate, whether a policy is a good one, or which of two options suits your situation. Those are judgments about your circumstances, and LifQ does not make them.
Specifically, nothing in LifQ or on this website is insurance, legal, tax, or financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, decline, or terminate any insurance policy or financial product. Using LifQ, or communicating with us, does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, or any other professional relationship, and those communications are not protected by any professional privilege.
LifQ is not licensed, and takes no commissions
LifQ is operated by Pakal Systems LLC. Neither the product nor the company is an insurance producer, broker, agent, consultant, or analyst, and neither is licensed in any state to act as one. LifQ does not sell or place insurance, does not receive commissions or referral fees from any insurer, agent, or quote service, and has no business relationship with any carrier. Our only revenue is the subscription our customers pay us, which is deliberate: it means we have no financial interest in what you decide to buy.
Your documents are the authority
LifQ uses AI to read and restate your documents. AI makes mistakes, and policy language is dense and full of exceptions. A LifQ summary is a convenience, never a substitute for the policy itself. Before you act on anything you see in LifQ, confirm it against your actual policy documents and with your insurer, plan administrator, or benefits department. Where LifQ and your policy disagree, your policy governs.
One more thing worth knowing: in reading your documents, AI processing may derive information, including health-related inferences, that you never typed in. Anything health-related that LifQ derives is treated as consumer health data, with all the protections described in our consumer health data privacy policy.
Not an emergency service
LifQ is an organizational tool. Please don’t rely on it as your only way to reach insurance or medical benefit information in an emergency. Keep independent access to anything critical, like your insurer’s app, phone line, or physical cards. Like any online service, LifQ can be temporarily unavailable.
Related, for shared computers: if you use LifQ on a shared or public device, sign out when you’re done and clear the browser cache, so your summaries don’t remain visible to the next person.
Where to go for advice
For advice about your specific situation, talk to someone licensed to give it: a licensed insurance agent or broker for coverage decisions, a tax professional for HSA, FSA, and other tax questions, and a licensed financial professional for planning questions. Your state insurance department can also answer questions and handle complaints at no cost. LifQ’s job is making sure you walk into those conversations knowing exactly what you already own.
About our articles and glossary
The articles and glossary on this site are general education for a general audience. They are not written about anyone’s particular circumstances and are not individualized advice. Insurance rules, contribution limits, and eligibility thresholds change, and an article accurate when published may not be accurate when you read it. We do not accept payment from insurers or advertisers to write about their products, and we do not link out to carriers or quote services.
Examples and estimates
Dollar figures shown in product screenshots, scenarios, and calculators on this site are illustrative. They describe what a household might find, not what you will find. Your results depend entirely on the coverage you actually have.
